March in memory of Nemtsov became the largest opposition share for the year

Participants in the March in memory of Boris Nemtsov, who a year ago killed on Bolshoi Moskvoretsky bridge near Kremlin, began to arrive on Strastnoy Boulevard long before the beginning of the action (14.00). By 13.00 the framework of the detectors, which were exhibited on several blocked “KAMAZ” Boulevard, gathered several hundred people. Many were holding flowers that they were going to carry until the end of March and lay already at the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky bridge. Before the March, some participants were telling each other about the attributes of protests in 2012-2013 that were organized, including Boris Nemtsov, white ribbons and themed icons. At the entrance everyone got the Russian flags or white ball, which at the end of the procession on the team should have been let go in the sky. Among the marchers were many who traditionally come to the Metropolitan meetings in 2012-2013 — by the Muscovites from the middle class and the youth, diluted regular participants of any kind of protest activities in the capital of the last 10 years.

Closer to 13.00 police began letting people through the framework, and then they lined up in columns on both sides of Boulevard. The convoy were supporters of Boris Nemtsov of the opposition party Parnas and the Solidarity movement Ilya Yashin, Mikhail Kasyanov, Vladimir Milov, Gennady Gudkov, etc. Behind them a dense lined up rank and file opposition: most of them were holding flags of Parnas and Solidarity signs with the picture of Nemtsov and his quotes.

The March began with a slight delay, the organizers decided to wait everyone that was slowly seeping through the frame. 14.00 all Strastnoy Boulevard was filled with people: according to the movement of the “White counter”, which counts the number of protests, to recall Boris Nemtsov gathered over 24 thousand people. GU the Ministry of internal Affairs in Moscow reported about smaller: 7.5 thousand.

All the way to Prospekt Sakharova protesters passed in silence, only occasionally in the crowd charged the traditional slogans like “Russia without Putin!” or subject like “Heroes don’t die!”. On the approach to the Sakharov Avenue a crowd of thousands suddenly stopped: it turned out that walking in front of Yashin invited to honor the memory Nemcova moment of silence. At the end of the Sakharov Avenue, many who were white balloons, released them into the sky and went toward the subway.

On the Big Moscow river bridge revealed that more than half of the marchers decided to come to the place of murder Nemtsov. There were so many people that the police had blocked the traffic on the bridge, and at some point stopped to let everyone to the murder site — the bridge was filled to capacity. The flow of people, however, did not stop — they came from the red square and Pyatnitskaya street. Came to remember the bridge Nemtsov and Alexei Navalny.

March in memory of Nemtsov became the largest opposition rally over the past year: the last major procession happened immediately after the assassination policy ( filed opposition, it was attended by about 50,000 people).
