The co-chairs of the International support group Syria (MGPS), Russia and the United States, announced the establishment of its operational centers – in Moscow, Washington, Geneva, Latakia (Syria) and Amman (Jordan).

He also reported that the truce “contributes to the effective operations for the delivery of humanitarian assistance to affected Syrian populations, as well as joining efforts of all healthy political forces in Syria to fight DAISH (Arabic name of the IG), “dzhebhat EN-Nusra” (both banned in Russia) and other terrorist groups that are defined as such by the UN security Council resolutions”, – said the Russian diplomat.

The cessation of hostilities between government forces and armed opposition in Syria came into effect at 00:00 time of Damascus (01:00 GMT Saturday, February 27). An hour before the truce the UN Security Council adopted a resolution in support of the cessation of collisions. The document, prepared by Russia and the United States, received the support of all 15 members of the security Council.
