Media: the borrower will be able to refuse the loan because of the pictures in social networks

MOSCOW, February 29. National Bureau of credit histories (NBCH) in cooperation with the IT-company Double Data has launched Social Attributes, which analyzes the behavior of borrowers in social networks. On Monday the newspaper “Izvestia”.

“For example, even if all other documents are in order, pictures of revelry with the participation of the borrower can lead to denial of credit. Abroad information about the borrower obtained from social networks, is used to assess its creditworthiness”, – the newspaper quotes the head of the analytical Department of the Bank BKF Maxim Osadchy.

According to the newspaper, the subscription of the borrower group about network marketing (for example, the sale of cosmetics), quick loans or depressants increases the risk of nonpayment of the loan 2-4 times. However, the positive user actions, such as publication of photographs of travels, reduce the risk for the lender.

All social networks use about 60% of borrowers throughout the country.

“Young debtors (under 35 years) prefer the network “Vkontakte”, it is used to 70% of all borrowers. Middle-aged people (over 35) – “Classmates”. Facebook users take loans rarely: for example, in the group of borrowers 25 to 34 years, only one in ten uses the social network”, – quoted the newspaper.

It is noted that banks and MFIs have already started to use the system in their scoring models.
