The Communist party intends to initiate a parliamentary investigation into the accident at the Severnaya mine, which killed 36 people, said the Deputy of the state Duma, the representative of the leader of Communists Gennady Zyuganov Alexander Yushchenko.
The decision was taken at last Monday’s meeting of the Secretariat of the party. “Too much conflicting information coming from the scene of the tragedy, this need to understand,” said Yushchenko. Now Communists prepare documents for requests for investigation, the Deputy said. According to him, the party will also appeal to the President and to the Prosecutor General requesting investigation into the incident.
To take the investigation to the state Duma, you need at least 90 signatures of deputies. Then within a month the first state Duma and then the Federation Council voted for the maintenance or rejection of this proposal. The decision to establish a special Commission will be accepted, only if for it will vote, both houses of Parliament. The investigation must be completed within one year from the date of creation of the Commission and its object cannot be the establishment of the guilt of specific individuals.
