MOSCOW, 1 March. Social network “Vkontakte” have signed a settlement agreement with the copyright owner of recordings by singer Gregory Leps – the company “Nikitin Amdisa”, told in the press service of the social network.
“Trial on the suit of LLC “Nikitin Amdisa” LLC “In Contact” on the protection of exclusive rights on 10 phonograms Gregory Leps completed the settlement agreement,” – said the press Secretary of “Vkontakte” Eugene Krasnikov. According to him, the social network has deleted the controversial track on his website. “The parties also agreed about effective ways of cooperation in the sphere of protection of intellectual property rights and on further mutually beneficial cooperation”, – said the representative of “Vkontakte”.
Details of the agreement, including possible compensation, in the social network did not disclose.
In the summer of 2015 the court of St. Petersburg satisfied the claim to “Vkontakte” from the Studio “Nikitin Amdisa”, which demanded to collect from the social network 750 thousand rubles. for posting freely available 10 tracks of Grigory Leps, as well as to oblige her to remove them.
In a press-service “Nikitin Amdisa” was unable to immediately comment on the situation.
Previously “Vkontakte” have signed settlement agreements for music content from Sony Music (July 2015) and with the Studio “Union” (in February 2016).
