Polls: 74% of Russians are ready to vote for Putin in the presidential elections

MOSCOW, March 3. Declared support for Putin in the presidential elections in 2018 reached a maximum of four years. This is evidenced by the survey of the all-Russia centre of studying of public opinion (VTSIOM).

The poll was conducted January 23-24, 2016. Polled 1,600 people in 130 populated localities in 46 regions, territories and republics of Russia. The statistical error does not exceed 3.5%.

“The willingness to vote for Vladimir Putin in the next presidential elections in early 2016 Express 74% of Russians – a maximum of four years (an increase from 40% in October 2012). Even among those who believe that the President has not yet implemented many of his campaign promises, Putin is ready to support 70%. Don’t plan to vote for his candidature at the moment, 15% and 11% can not give a definition the answer to this question”, – stated in the materials of VTSIOM.

The Russians say that more and more of the promises made by Vladimir Putin during the election campaign of 2012, come to life. “Since the beginning of 2013 the share of respondents who believe that the President has already met most of them, grew in 2 times (from 16% to 37%). In March 2012 (one week after the elections), such a forecast was given exactly the same number of respondents (37%).”
