MOSCOW, March 4. Demand of Russians on cosmetics in online stores before March 8 increased by 2-5 times and the flowers – in 3-5 times in comparison with ordinary days. This is stated in the study, the results of which told in a press-service “Yandex.Money.”
The study is based on data about orders in the online stores and services that accept payments through “Yandex.Cash” (that is, about 75 thousand online retailers). If this were divided into three categories that showed the greatest growth in the pre-holiday period from 26 February to 3 March.
The number of purchases in Internet-shops of bags and accessories before the holiday has grown in 1,5-2 times. One of the most popular gifts on March 8 this year also became books: online sales of some bookstores in anticipation of the holiday have doubled. The demand for confectionery products in the Internet increased by 1.6 times.
The Russians also bought on the Internet as a gift on March 8 jewelry, costume jewellery and handicraft goods (the demand for these categories increased by 30%). At the same time sales of Internet-shops of electronics and household appliances increased by 20-30%, and the individual mono-brand shops – several times. While the Russians before March 8 were more likely to order products from China.
To 8 March residents of Russia bought more gifts than by 23 February, shows a study. “Before International women’s day the number of online orders increased 2 times, and before the Day of defender of the Fatherland – 1.5”, – stated in it.
The Russians are planning to spend the holidays at home: demand for the plane tickets and the train has increased, according to the study. However, the Russians take care of their leisure, buying video games and sport nutrition: the demand for these categories has increased by 40%.
According to the study, 76% of users would prefer to receive as a gift money. While 60% receive money as a gift more often than once a year.
