Venezuelan President: OPEC will discuss the freezing of oil production until June


MEXICO city, 4 March, the OPEC member Countries and non member States in the organization, will be discussed in the near future the question about the freezing of oil production until June. This was announced on Thursday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

As noted by the head of state, the meeting will be held in the coming days. “(It) will be a commitment to freeze production at least until June of this year”, – quotes the words of the head of the state Agency Agencia Venezolana de Noticias. Maduro said that the sides will also discuss various proposals for recovery put forward by Venezuela.

Previously, the Agency Bloomberg has informed that a meeting of OPEC members and other countries outside the cartel, will take place on 20 March in Russia.

“Russia is ready to participate in talks between OPEC and other countries – oil producers. Currently various options are being considered regarding the location and date of the meeting, which will discuss measures to stabilize oil market”, – noted in turn the Ministry of energy of the Russian Federation. According to a source familiar with the situation: “At the present time several options are being discussed the venue of meetings, the final decision is still pending”.
