Putin in the Kremlin will hand over the state and will meet with the heads of Serbia and Armenia


MOSCOW, March 10. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday in the Kremlin will hand over state awards, and then will hold meetings with the presidents of Armenia and Serbia Tomislav Nikolic and Serzh Sargsyan.

According to the press service of the head of the state, afternoon in the Catherine hall of the Kremlin Putin will present awards and medals and also awarded the honorary title 42 Russians and citizens of foreign States. Awards of the Russian Federation will receive figures of domestic science, rocket and space industry, well-known public and religious figures, representatives of working professions, teachers, artists, journalists.

Among awarded – the commander and co-pilot of the plane “the Orenburg airlines” whose actions prevented the collapse of the liner in the Dominican Republic, and a member of the Russian police, and a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, who saved a woman in the Moscow metro. Among the recipients of foreign nationals representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, the Czech Republic.

The visit of the Serbian President

Interview

Nikolic arrived on a working visit to Russia the day before. As have informed in a press-service of the Kremlin, during his meeting with Putin is expected to discuss the state and prospects of development of strategic partnership between Russia and Serbia and to exchange views on key aspects of further deepening of cooperation in political, trade-economic and humanitarian spheres. It is also planned to touch upon topical issues of international and regional agenda.

On the eve of the visit, Nikolic gave an interview in which he talked about his view of the situation in the European Union in the world, as well as on the Russian-Serbian relations.

In particular, the head of Serbia criticized the European Union for the deviation from the principles upon which it was formed. Nikolic pointed to the crisis of the Euro zone, but noted that he is less of a problem for the EU than sanctions against Russia. First of all, these sanctions, according to him, was hit on the smaller countries of the European Union. He stressed that “several member States of the EU will oppose the automatic extension of sanctions against Russia, because the sanctions against their people”.

Nikolic drew attention to the growing migration crisis in the EU, recognizing that the Union demonstrates unreadiness to meet this challenge. The Serbian President admitted that he is not too optimistic about the fact that migration in the region would be able to stop.

Relations between Moscow and Belgrade Nikolic has described as exceptional. He praised the position of Russia, which demonstrates a special attitude to Serbia and are ready to support Belgrade regardless of the fact that Serbia is part of the European Union, relations between Moscow which is experiencing hard times.

Meeting with President of Armenia

In the evening of the same day Putin will accept in the Kremlin Serzh Sargsyan. It is expected that during the conversation the heads of Russia and Armenia will discuss key issues of bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, energy and humanitarian spheres, as well as prospects of development of integration processes in the Eurasian space.

Special attention will be paid to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.
