Governors offered to check on conflict of interests in procurement

The Ministry of economic development proposes to extend the checking of conflict of interest in procurement on governors, mayors, heads of state corporations and the operators of electronic sites, reports “Kommersant” with reference to trapped in a publication a copy of the letter the Deputy Minister Evgeny Elin sent on 9 March to the presidential administration.

According to the proposal of the Ministry of economic development, to be checked for the affiliation with suppliers the purchasing participants will be automatically after it connects with information resources of the Federal tax service, Federal financial monitoring service, FMS, registry office, etc.

Introduced in 2013, the ban on the affiliation of government contractors and subcontractors now affects only the leaders and the customer’s contract service, members of the procurement Committee and the contract administrators. They cannot be married or close relationship with the leaders and beneficiaries, owning more than 10% of the assets of contractor, notes “Kommersant”.
