In Transcarpathia ordered to remove signage with the “daughter” of Sberbank, the word “Russia”


Remove from the signboards of the branches of Ukrainian “daughter” of Sberbank of Russia the title of “aggressor country” demanded the head of administration of the Transcarpathian region Gennady Moskal. Signed by 11 March 2016 by the order the Governor encouraged the mayors of Uzhgorod and Mukachevo partially dismantle signs of Bank branches, leaving only the word “Sberbank”.

In the press-service of administration of the Zakarpatye area the decision Moskal explained that the name “aggressor country” freely “flaunted” on the signs.

“Rename” departments “daughter” of Sberbank of Russia, the authorities of Transcarpathia demanded at the time, as the Ukrainian Oschadbank seeking recognition of the illegal similar renaming all Ukrainian subsidiary of Russia’s largest Bank. At the end of November 2015, “daughter” officially changed its name to JSC “Sberbank of Russia” PJSC “Sberbank”, the state savings Bank was deemed a violation of their rights and an attempt to cheat the millions of Ukrainians.

“We consider inadmissible the attempts of Sberbank of Russia in such a way to hide the country of origin of the share capital, — said the Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Andrey Lush, commenting on the lawsuit, filed in mid-January 2016 to the Economic court of Kiev. – Although I understand the motives, because Russia at the official level by Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada recognized as an aggressor. All this has a definite impact on customer behavior and can mislead them, because since Soviet times a certain number of consumers still refer to the state savings Bank Sberbank. We can’t ignore and not respect the interests of these people, who illegal actions of the savings Bank can be misled”.

In January 2015 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recognized Russia as “an aggressor country”. In July of the same year the Bank through the court demanded that Russia compensate losses associated with the transition of the Crimea in structure of Russia.
