MOSCOW, March 11. A promising form of cooperation between Rosneft and Vietnam is the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG), said the official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

“Among the most promising forms of collaboration – supply of liquefied natural gas. Weighing the potential cooperation in the production in Vietnam of natural gas fuel, there are developments in the field of oil refining and petrochemistry”, – said Zakharov.

Earlier it was reported that a subsidiary of Rosneft – Rosneft Vietnam B. V. start drilling exploration wells in the Block 06.1 offshore Vietnam. In the framework of the project “Rosneft” for the first time acts as operator of drilling on the international shelf.

Zakharov said that “Rosneft” participates in development on the continental shelf of Viet Nam since 2013 in the framework of agreements on section of production.

“The volume of gas produced in 2015, accounted for about 12% of the energy needs of Vietnam. Exploration drilling is carried out to search for new hydrocarbon deposits and increase the resource potential of the company’s projects in Vietnam”, she said, adding that “Rosneft” for the first time acts as the operator of such project on the shelf of a foreign state, which “confirms the high level of competence of Russian specialists”.

Zakharova noted that “many years of cooperation and a high level of mutual trust help Russian and Vietnamese oilmen, despite the unfavourable situation in world markets, to boost cooperation in a wide range of areas, to compete successfully with leading corporations operating in the oil and gas industry”. And the issues of deepening cooperation in the core business, according to her, is constantly monitored by the governments of the two countries and are regularly discussed at the meetings of the intergovernmental Russian-Vietnamese Commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation.
