Putin told Assad that the withdrawal of Russian forces from Syria

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has called Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and agreed on with the Russian troops from the country. According to the press-Secretary of Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.

“Of course, what the President was brought to the attention of our Syrian colleagues and agreed with President Assad,” he said, noting that the heads of state talked over the phone.

In a press-service of the Kremlin, in turn, reported that during the conversation the presidents discussed the cessation of hostilities in Syria, a sharp decline in the bloodshed and the humanitarian situation. “Failed to create the conditions for starting a peace process under the auspices of the UN”, — stated in the message.

The country leaders also noted that the actions of the aerospace defence forces of Russia allowed “to radically change the situation with the fight against terrorists, to disrupt the infrastructure of militants to inflict significant damage”, and the fundamental objectives that were set before VC, agreed.

“Bashar al-Assad noted the professionalism, courage and heroism of soldiers and officers of the Russian Armed Forces participating in hostilities, and expressed his deep gratitude to Russia for large-scale assistance in the fight against terrorism and provided to the civilian population humanitarian assistance”, — noted in press service.
