State Secretary- Deputy Minister of culture of Russia Grigory Pirumov detained by the FSB in Rostov-on-don on the case of plunders of budgetary funds in the Department. This was reported by sources TASS and “Interfax” in law enforcement. The source of “RIA Novosti” said that Pirumov already transferred to Moscow.
Criminal case concerning the Deputy Minister of culture associated with the restoration of historical monuments in Izborsk, reported “Interfax” a source close to the leadership of the Ministry of culture.
“The criminal case and the detention of one of the Vice-Minister is connected first of all with restoration of monuments of history and culture in Izborsk — in particular, the Truvorovo Gorodishche, St. Nicholas Church, St. Nicholas Cathedral and other”, — said the Agency interlocutor.
On initiation of criminal cases against “senior employees of the Ministry of culture and a number of businessmen”, which was suspected of embezzlement of public funds allocated for restoration of objects of cultural heritage, on the morning of March 15, reported the press service of the FSB.
Later the source of “Interfax” in law enforcement bodies has informed that in case of theft arrested one of the Vice-Minister of culture, without specifying his name. The interlocutor of Agency has merely indicated that the Deputy Minister was detained in Rostov.
As stated on the website of the Ministry of culture of Russia Grigory Pirumov in the Department coordinates and controls the activities of the Department of state protection of cultural heritage, Department for property management and investment policies, regulatory Department and FGBY “Agency for management and use of monuments of history and culture”.
