In the party Poroshenko “buried” the idea is to replace Yatsenyuk on Jaresko

The head of the faction Block Petro Poroshenko Yuriy Lutsenko has accused “Self-help” that she “buried” the chance to create a technocratic government. He said this commenting on the statement made on the eve of the party about the conditions under which it would support the new Prime Minister.

“The fact is that the government cannot cope with the key tasks of the country’s recovery, the chance for the implementation of the new policy could give the technocratic government created party without bidding, without oligarchs. But this idea, which is supported by the society, which support a responsible policy that has the support of Western partners, yesterday was actually buried by a statement of the “Samopomochi” that she will not join any coalition under any new government”, — said Lutsenko, speaking in the Verkhovna Rada (quoted by

The day before, on 14 March, the press Secretary of the President of Ukraine Svyatoslav Tsigalko said that the President Petro Poroshenko sees as the new Prime Minister or Finance Minister Natalia Yaresko, or the leader of the party “Self-help”, Lviv mayor Andriy Sadovy. Probable Cabinet Jaresko he called the technocratic, Cabinet Garden political.

On Monday evening a meeting was held with Poroshenko Garden. It was attended by the leader of the faction “Samopomich” Oleg Berezyuk, who shortly before the negotiations called the conditions under which the faction is ready to consider support for the new Prime Minister. “The law on the proportional election [to Parliament] with open lists, the resignation of the CEC, the resignation of attorney General….and the resignation of the government. If these conditions are fulfilled, the faction “Self-help”, staying in the opposition, given the difficult socio-economic conditions, is ready to consider situational support proposals for the Prime Minister”, he said (quoted by “Interfax-Ukraine”).

Tuesday, March 15, the leader of the party “Samopomich” Andriy Sadovy said that at the meeting with Poroshenko refused the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine. “Such conversations were, and today were before. I am a realist. Samopomich [“Self”] has 26 deputies. Therefore, we are willing to take responsibility, but within that confidence that we have before the Ukrainian people”, — he noted. Garden added that the Parliament has the largest factions — the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko and “popular front”, which “should understand that they are obliged to offer their own versions” (quoted by UNN).

That as Prime Minister, consider the candidature of the Finance Minister Natalia Jaresko, has been repeatedly reported earlier. In late February, I told about it “-Ukraine” a source in the Ukrainian government, later wrote about this in his Twitter the former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Steven Pifer.

In early March, sources of “the Ukrainian truth” in the administration Poroshenko said that Jaresko had previously agreed to lead the Cabinet and put forward a number of conditions, among which were: “the technocratic government without party quotas”, “the absence of any political pressure from any side”, the dialogue with the Parliament directly, support the initiatives of the government in all factions of the coalition, including the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko.

At the same time a week ago the Financial Times wrote that both Poroshenko and Yatsenyuk have switched to the question of choosing a person for the post of Prime Minister towards the candidacy of Parliament speaker Volodymyr Groisman. However, the publication noted that the Cabinet headed by him is considered to be potentially more susceptible to the effects of “powerful corporate interests, including the influence of the oligarchs and the President [Poroshenko]”. And familiar with the situation sources stressed that Jaresko herself, most likely, will refuse to work in such a government, which could undermine the support of the creditors, particularly the IMF.

A month ago the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said about the need for “a complete reboot” and “total reformat” of the government Arseniy Yatsenyuk. “To restore trust [to the government], therapy does not need surgery”, — stressed the head of state. On the same day on the question of imposition of a censure motion passed by a vote of deputies of the Verkhovna Rada. If they were in favor of this measure, the government is automatically resigned, however, for this decision voted 194 deputies at necessary 226.
