“Beeline” became the owner of the mobile operator for migrants

“VimpelCom” (brand “Beeline”) has acquired a majority stake in mobile virtual operator “SIM-Telecom” (brand Sim Sim), which focuses on working in Moscow migrants. The company bought out the stake the founder of QIWI Andrey Romanenko and his associates, who remained co-owners of the operator, said General Director of “VimpelCom” Mikhail Slobodin and Romanenko himself to journalists.

VimpelCom names the project “the ethnosystem” for visitors based MNVO (virtual operator running on the network “Beeline”), primarily from the CIS, China, Vietnam and India. The company does not exclude that the customers are visitors from Africa, Europe and America.

The operator exists since 2014 and previously VimpelCom gave him their infrastructure under the Agency scheme. Now he was in the company of 50.2%, said the press service of the company. The remaining shares remained with Romanenko and its partners.

Now the operator has about 100 thousand subscribers, said Slobodin. Sim Sim works in Moscow and the Moscow region, where there are already more than 4 thousand points of sales, but the partners do not exclude that will develop the project in other regions.

The investment amount has not been disclosed. The acquisition of shares of “VimpelCom” was “virtually penniless”, but the company has the right to buy the remaining stake in the operator, said Slobodin. He said that major investments from partners and VimpelCom provided its infrastructure.

Occurrence in a share in the company Slobodin has explained that “VympelCom” wants to control the audience and reflect the subscribers of this operator in its customer base.
