Naryshkin: Russia is interested in duromine and the resumption of air links with Egypt

MOSCOW, March 16. Russia is interested in resuming air links with Egypt and tourist exchange with this country, said the Chairman of the state Duma Sergey Naryshkin.

“We are interested in the resumption of tourist exchange, and confirmation of this fact is that the government of Russia took a decision to open the Consulate General of Russia in Hurghada, one of the tourist capitals of Egypt,” – said Naryshkin, accepting in Moscow the foreign Minister of Egypt Sameh Shukri.

According to the speaker, Russian and Egyptian experts “firmly” address the issue related to the security of air travel from Moscow to Egypt, and the resumption of air links and tourist exchanges between our countries.

“And from the Russian side and the Egyptian side in this joint work busy experts in the field of transport, air safety, and we understand that, there’s a good movement forward,” – said the Chairman of the state Duma.

“The main thing here is that all the conditions were created that would not be allowed to repeat the attack (which took place over the Sinai in the past),” – said Naryshkin.

Air travel in Russia and some other countries with Egypt was interrupted last year after the collapse of the Sinai on the Russian airliner. Aircraft A321 “Kogalymavia” flying from the Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheikh to St. Petersburg, crashed on October 31; on Board were 217 passengers and seven crew members were killed. The FSB has classified the incident as a terrorist attack.
