Crimea is a region of Russia, and this is not the subject of international negotiations and contacts. This was stated press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov on a request of journalists to comment on the calls for UN countries to join anti-Russian sanctions.
“This region of the Russian Federation. Russia did not and will not be discussed with anyone never to discuss their regions. In this case, it will need with absolute respect for the will of the Crimean people and the decision that was made two years ago. Any discussion of it is not subject, in this case, of course, this is not an issue that can be the subject of some negotiations or international contacts,” Peskov said (quoted by “RIA Novosti”).
Earlier in the night on March 18 – the second anniversary of the annexation of Crimea to Russia — the European Union made a statement, which once again condemns this move and calls on UN countries to join anti-Russian sanctions.
