In Ukraine detained a suspect in the disappearance of a lawyer “fighter GRU”


In Ukraine, law enforcement detained a suspect of involvement in the disappearance of Yury Grabovsky — the lawyer of the Russian Alexander Alexandrov. About it on air of TV channel “112 Ukraine” said the chief military Prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoly Matios.

According to him, the detained citizen of Ukraine “was using forged documents of special services of law enforcement agencies, as well as documents to cover up the names of other citizens” (quoted by TASS). Matios noted that the others involved in the disappearance Grabowski traveled outside of Ukraine. He once again stressed that Grabowski could not leave the country., but did not explain where the lawyer.

The disappearance of Grabowski became known on 9 March. On the website of the attorney “the fighter GRU” in Facebook appeared an inscription made on his behalf, that he left Ukraine because of threats to security. Colleague Grabowski Oksana Sokolovsky in conversation with “Interfax-Ukraine” doubted that the message was written by a lawyer. In addition, it was indicated that along with Grabovski disappeared prepared by the protection of the materials of the case.

The next day, the police of Odessa brought criminal case upon disappearance of the lawyer. According to the chief specialist of the Department of communications General Department of Netpolice in Odessa region Daria Yarchuk, whereabouts unknown Grabowski on March 5, 2016.

Grabowski is a lawyer of Russian Alexander Alexandrov, who was detained in may 2015 in Luhansk region together with Evgeny Erofeev. According to the Ukrainian side, at the time they were active soldiers of the General staff of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation. The Russian defense Ministry claims that at the time of travel in the Donbas both the Russians retired from the armed forces. The Ministry also has repeatedly stressed that the Russian military did not participate in the armed conflict in Eastern Ukraine.

In Ukraine, the detained Russians accused under several articles of the Criminal Code, including terrorism and facilitating terrorist attack. The Prosecutor’s office asked to sentence the Russians to life imprisonment
