Lavrov called on Europe “to postpone geopolitical game and unite”


“I hope that all Europeans in the face of terrible threat of terrorism in light of the terrorist attacks in Brussels will put aside geopolitical games and get together,” said Sergei Lavrov.

He also stressed that problems in the OSCE space. Lavrov stressed that he intends to discuss with the German presidency of the organization, the European dimension, the resolution on Ukraine and Syria.

Lavrov’s statement has sounded next day after the terrorist attacks in Brussels. The day before the incident was commented by the official representative of the MFA of Russia Maria Zakharova.

“Unfortunately, today we come to a very sad end to the policy of double standards in this area. You cannot divide terrorists into good and bad,” said Zakharov on the eve of “Russia 24” (quoted by TASS).

On the eve of in Belgium there was a series of bombings — two blasts in Zaventem airport, another explosion occurred at the metro station “Maelbeek” that is near the EU institutions. The victims of the terrorist attacks was 31 people. Responsibility for attack was assumed banned in Russia “Islamic state”.
