U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry at the talks in Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place on Thursday, March 24, and lasted four hours, raised the issue of the Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko. The head of the state Department said at a press conference following the talks. Kerry said that Putin answered his question and “made it clear” that this issue can be dealt with “at some point”.
“One of the issues I raised, is quite important is the question of Hope Savchenko. Yes, I raised this issue. We have done many times, and we discussed this issue with the President,” Kerry said (citata by “Interfax”).
According to the Secretary of state, the Russian President answered his questions and “made it clear that this is an issue that at some point we will be able to do.”
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, in turn, said that Kerry received a “reply all”.
“Talked about it and the representatives of the foreign Ministry, the press service of the Kremlin. There’s nothing for me to add,” said Lavrov.
