Representative Khodorkovsky responded to the words about the illegal purchase of a Yukos

Ex-head of Yukos Mikhail Khodorkovsky acquired the shares of the company in compliance with all legal procedures and adequate for the price. About this “Interfax” said the press-Secretary of Khodorkovsky Olga Pispanen.

“The acquisition of Yukos shares was made in compliance with all legal procedures. I’m not exactly call the price but it was adequate, and information on all collateral auction, which took place 20 years ago, what companies were involved there, is open,” said Piispanen.

She noted that “even in those troubled times, 20 years ago, nobody could come off the street and say: give me a kilo of shares of Yukos”.

Earlier on Friday the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) Vladimir Markin said on air of the Vesti FM radio station that the investigators gather evidence on the illegal acquisition of Yukos’s shareholders. Markin added that the investigation is already “close to proof that it was actually so.”

In addition, Markin said that Khodorkovsky did not pay for the purchase of shares of the company’s “dime”.

In an interview with radio station “Moscow speaking” called Pispanen conclusions TFR “entertaining speculation”.

“First they built their sentences on an amazing arithmetic that, it turns out, had sold more oil than produced. After 20 years, found that Khodorkovsky was the principal owner of Yukos, and in 1996 he acquired these shares. Two days only and not 20 years from now, they discover that Khodorkovsky did not pay a penny,” said Piispanen.

“Mikhail Borisovich offered Putin to review the results of mortgage auctions,” said she.

On 23 March, the source of “Interfax” reported that the law enforcement authorities in the course of further investigation obtained evidence that the ex-Yukos co-owners became the shareholders of the company by fraud. The source added that does not rule out the possibility that the extracted information may be grounds for filing Khodorkovsky and other former Yukos co-owner of the new charges.

It was previously reported that Russia gave to the team of lawyers of former Yukos shareholders the original version of the shareholders register of the company, seized by investigators, the company “M-the Register” in 2003. The analysis of the document showed that the plaintiffs, otsudila in the Hague on Russia’s $50 billion YUKOS received and illegally concealed from the Tribunal the nationality of the investors, claimed the lawyers of the Russian side. According to them, if not fraud by the claimants, the Hague arbitration would not have admitted, that it had jurisdiction to consider the dispute in the framework of the international Energy Charter Treaty.
