Flights of Aeroflot can grow in connection with increase of tariffs for services of the airports of Moscow air traffic, warned in an interview with TV channel “Russia 24”, the General Director of airline Vitaly Savelyev. He explained that the final decision is still pending and the company intends to “watch the market”.
“If you all raise, we need to do something. But what we do will not. But in the loss I can’t fly. If we can not cope with production costs, we obtain explicitly the loss, we can’t afford”, — explained the Saveliev (quoted by “Interfax”).
The head of Aeroflot said that the company understands the need of airports to attract additional funds required for investment in development. But he cautioned that the tariff increase for services of all companies involved in the servicing of passengers, will cause additional costs to be factored into the cost of tickets. And this, according to Savelyev, the risk that “a passenger may not fly, not to raise the price”.
“And we are telling airports: guys, don’t do it. Therefore, we must be very careful”, — said the head of “Aeroflot”, noting that the company has already appealed to the government to understand this complex issue.
Previously about the big financial losses that threatened the airline’s increase of tariffs for airport services, said co-owner S7 Natalia Fileva. “We have a lot to lose. In Domodedovo increased by 20%. The passenger cannot pay, it will fall on the airline. Then, we’ll go bankrupt, and all these holes will pay the state pays now after the departure “Transaero”, that is not a passenger, and all will suffer,” said Fileva (quoted by TASS).
She also added that the airline will once again turn to the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS).
Earlier it was reported that the airport Domodedovo in March raised the fee for take-off / landing by 15%, aviation safety was 26 per cent, and on March 30 will raise the fee for airport terminal for international lines by 27%, and for internal — just 43%. To Sheremetyevo from 1 April the rate rises on take-off / landing by 12%, for aviation safety — 3% at the terminal by 9%.
The tariff increase was made possible after the FAS decision on cancellation of state regulation of their rates. Last week, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said the timing of the introduction of new fees for airlines, which became possible after deregulation of tariffs. “I can’t say that it should or should not because the economic situation is not favourable for this type of decisions,” he said.
