Washington has restricted access to the speech of Petro Poroshenko


Access to the speech of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in the Ukrainian forum in Washington, D.C. will be limited. This is due to increased security measures after the incident on Monday shooting in the Capitol complex. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to the message of the organizers of the event, which was at the disposal of the Agency.

“Due to new concerns related to security at the visitor center on Capitol hill, we’ll never be able to take in more audience so many people, as it was planned before. To attend the performance or watch it will only be available to ticket holders. We regret to inform you that you will not be able to see and hear the speech of the President Poroshenko on Wednesday evening”, — stated in the message of the Vice-President of the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation, which organizes the forum, John Kuna. It was sent to journalists, including the correspondent of RIA of News.

The Agency reminds that the forum should be held in the visitor centre on Capitol hill on Wednesday. Speech Poroshenko was scheduled for Wednesday evening. According to initial plans, the portion of the public should be during his speech in the hall by special invitation, and the rest were given the opportunity to watch it on the monitor in more audience.

Among the declared in the program of the forum “the Human price of war in Ukraine”, “Economic development and recovery of Ukraine”, “From Budapest to Minsk and on.”
