Putin called for an immediate ceasefire in the Karabakh conflict zone

Russian President Vladimir Putin called for an immediate cease fire in the conflict zone at the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated by his press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, reports “Interfax”.

“President Putin calls on the parties to the conflict for an immediate ceasefire and exercise restraint in order to avoid new casualties,” — said Peskov.

According to the press Secretary, the head of state “regrets due to the fact that the situation is again slid into armed confrontation”. Peskov recalled that in recent times has undertaken a number of efforts to resolve the conflict. He clarified that we are talking about the trilateral group of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan and the OSCE Minsk group on Nagorno-Karabakh.
