“Rosneft” has submitted to Arbitration court of Moscow the claim about collecting $184,8 million to Cyprus Swisspro Capital Ltd, which in 2013 received a loan from VTB for the purchase of the Odessa refinery the group of Sergey Kurchenko. Information about the lawsuit is posted in the filing of cases on the court’s website.
Rosneft needs to recover from the Respondent the debts for the delivery of crude oil under contract in 2014, follows from the materials of the case. The state company has addressed with the statement to the court in mid-March 2016. First, the court left the claim until April 18, due to the fact that the claimant submitted documents in a foreign language. After receiving Rosneft’s documents in Russian, the court accepted the claim to consideration.
Also, the Russian company asked the court to arrest funds in Bank accounts and other assets Swisspro Capital Ltd in the amount equivalent to us $184,8 million to the non-adoption of interim measures can significantly impede or make impossible the execution of a court decision and cause the applicant considerable damage, the company explained. However, the court dismissed the petition for seizure of assets Swisspro Capital Ltd.
The company Swisspro Capital Ltd was the obligor on the loan of $370 million, VTB issued in 2013 for purchase of the Odessa refinery the group VETEK Ukrainian businessman Sergei Kurchenko of LUKOIL, wrote the newspaper “Kommersant” in March 2014. When Kurchenko understand that you will not be able to repay the loan, the Odesa oil refinery came under the control of VTB Bank and can be sold to Rosneft, claimed sources. The representative of “Rosneft” Mikhail Leontyev said Tuesday that first hears about the lawsuit. He also said that he had no information about the transition of the Odessa oil refinery is under the control of “Rosneft”. Press-service VTB have refused comments. Contact a representative of Sergey Kurchenko has not yet succeeded. The employee of the Moscow company “Vetek” said she is not related to the group VETEK Kurchenko.
Serhiy Kurchenko was forced to leave Ukraine after power change in Kiev in February 2014. In March of the same year, the European Union included in the sanctions list, and in July 2015 Kurchenko and fell under us sanctions. Ukraine announced the businessman on the international wanted list. In an interview he said he was not going to sell its assets in Ukraine. “I’m sure there will be a more competent authority.
