The media learned about plans of entering the Russian market, “Chinese Netflix”


That the Russian market can leave a company LeEco, which is called the “Chinese Netflix”, wrote on Tuesday the newspaper “Kommersant”, citing industry sources.

According to interlocutors of the edition, the President of the international business group JD.com Victor Xu, CEO JD.ru in logistics and services Alex Vasiliev are leaving the company and moving into Chinese LeEco. Xu will be responsible for business development in Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe, Vasilyev for the Russian market, the newspaper said. Vasilyev confirmed to the publication that talks with LeEco, Xu neither confirmed nor denied the information on transition from JD in LeEco, but noted that “everything is possible”.

A source familiar with the plans LeEco, said that the company is preparing in the summer to enter the Russian market and open an office here. Thus, according to him, LeEco is ready to offer Russian customers as their video platform and mobile devices.

The company LeEco (until January was called LeTV) was founded in 2004, was launched and videostreaming service. The daily audience of its online cinema, according to its own data company, is about 50 million people monthly — 750 million people.
