Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariyev at the extraordinary session of the government has resigned, reports 24.kg. He linked his decision with the scandal surrounding the tender for the repair of the road Balykchy — Corundum Issyk-Kul oblast, which was won by Chinese company LongHai unlicensed for similar work in Kyrgyzstan.
“Given the changing political climate, the inability to continue work in connection with this scandal, I was ready to continue the fight until the end for the interests of the state and the people, but I don’t want to be in the center of the scandal and took the decision to leave,” said Sariev (quoted by “Interfax”).
The Minister of transport and communications of Argynbek malabaev accused the Prime Minister and his entourage in lobbying of interests of foreign companies. The Prime Minister, in turn, has made a submission to the President of the country Almazbek Atambayev about the resignation of the head of the Ministry of transport. The President did not see evidence of this, then the situation around the tender began to investigate parliamentary Commission. It found numerous violations, not only in the tender for the construction of roads.
“After the inspection of the temporary parliamentary Commission identified numerous irregularities in the tenders for the construction of the road Balykchy-Korumdu, Bishkek International airport “Manas” by the Ministry of transport and communications and the Prime Minister and the entire government”, — was stated in the Commission’s decision. After the inspection, it is recommended to send Sariev in his resignation.

Sariyev became Prime Minister in April 2015 after the resignation of Djoomart Otorbaev. He was also forced to resign, the cause of which was the conflict of the Cabinet and the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan to discuss the development of a gold mine “Kumtor”.
