Erdogan filed a complaint against the German comedian for insulting poems

Erdogan issued through the law firm the complaint against the TV host of the night show “Neo Magazin Royale” Ian Beuermann, reports Reuters with reference to the Prosecutor of the city of Mainz.

In the program, which was released on March 31, Beermann read the poem about the President of Turkey, which contained coarse sexual innuendo and accusations of Erdogan’s repression against minorities and the oppression of Kurds and Christians.

Before you recite a verse, TV presenter mentioned the TV channel NDR, which ridiculed Erdogan for his authoritarian treatment of journalists.

Beermann already stated that the NDR has the right to freedom of expression, freedom of the press and freedom of opinion and admitted that his poem was an example of an invalid “abusive criticism”.

The prosecution has initiated investigation against the comedian on suspicion of “insulting organs and representatives of foreign States” after the complaint it filed more than 20 people. Meanwhile, the ZDF channel on 1 April, was removed from its Foundation videos on satire of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reported Deutsche Welle.

March 17 broadcast of the German television channel ARD released a two-minute satirical movie about Erdogan, shot by broadcaster NDR. The video accompanied the song, which ridiculed the attacks of the Turkish President on journalists in the country.
