Second European politician has resigned because of “the Panama document”

Jose Manuel Soria said on Friday, 15 April about your resignation from the post of Minister of industry, industry and tourism of Spain, after his name was linked with offshore companies in Panama and Jersey, reports El Pais. “From today I leave all political activities,” said Soria, adding that he also ceases to be the Deputy and the head of the Canarian branch of the people’s party.

Lines, registered a Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca, writes Bloomberg. First Soria denied any connection with this firm, but later backpedaled.

Soria became the second Minister in the government of Mariano Rajoy, who resigned due to allegations of financial impropriety. In 2014 for this reason his post went to the Minister of health of Spain Ana Mato.

The ICIJ investigation, it was alleged that in 2007, Gunnlaugsson purchased the company Wintris in the British virgin Islands, which later became one of the creditors of the bankrupt Icelandic banks.
