Russia circulated in the UN Security Council a draft statement calling for to investigate the events that occurred in Odessa on 2 may 2014. About it journalists were reported by the permanent representative of Russia to the UN Vitaly Churkin.
“We spread a very simple project statement, stressing the need to implement the Minsk agreements, and also calling for an investigation into the tragic events in Odessa on 2 may 2014, when 48 people were burned. It will be interesting what the reaction of members of the Security Council”, – he said.
Churkin expects that the proposed project applications accepted Thursday, April 28 after a meeting of the UN security Council.
The UN security Council meeting will be held on Thursday at the initiative of Ukraine. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced it the day before, noting that Kiev will raise the question about the deteriorating situation in the Donbass. According to him, the meeting was initiated because of the failure by Russia of the Minsk agreements.
May 2, 2014 in Odessa there were clashes between football fans and supporters of a unified Ukraine on the one hand and opponents of the new Ukrainian authorities on the other. The confrontation ended in the House of trade unions, sheltering the supporters of Antimiani. The House of trade unions threw bottles with an incendiary mix, it started a fire.
