President Barack Obama jokingly suggested that the head of state will be the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. Such a statement was made during Obama’s speech at the dinner of the Association of correspondents accredited to the White house, reports ABC.
“Next year someone else will stand here, on this very spot. We can only guess who she will be,” joked Obama.
Currently, Clinton is the only woman in the presidential race.
The President’s speech at the Association dinner is an annual event. The head of state in an informal setting, joking with the guests on various topics. During his speech, Obama remembered the time when he took the post of President of the United States in 2008.
“Eight years ago I was a young man, full of idealism and vigor. Now I’m gray, gray. I went to the countdown days until my death,” Obama said.
Now the ex-US Secretary of state Clinton is leading among Democrats in the presidential race. Her main rival in the party is a Senator from Vermont Bernie Sanders.
In the last round of preliminary voting in the election of the President of the United States Clinton won in four of the five States she voted in the Delaware, Maryland, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
