President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has decided to postpone the visit to Britain, which was scheduled for 11-12 may. On the evening of Tuesday, may 10, according to his press service.
The reason is the situation around the election of a new Prosecutor General and disapproval by Parliament of the legislation necessary to continue cooperation with the IMF.
“Now these are the reforms that the country needs. This is the case when domestic policy is making adjustments in international activities. I will continue to consult with the deputies”, – the press service quoted Poroshenko review.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada failed bill allowing Yuriy Lutsenko to head the state office of public Prosecutor. The deputies refused to support a bill that allows the attorney General to appoint a person without a legal education.
During his visit to Britain Poroshenko planned to take part in the anti-corruption summit.
