Yatsenyuk after Jamala victory on “Eurovision” predicted the return of the Crimea


Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, commenting on the victory of the Ukrainian singer Jamala on the Eurovision song contest, expressed confidence that the Crimea be returned to his country. The statement eks-the head of Ukrainian government made on his page in Facebook.

“Bravo, Jamal!!! A brilliant and deserved victory! Impressive strength of talent and a limitless depth to the songs. Ukraine is winning and will win, Crimea is Ukrainian!!!”, — he wrote.

In the night of Sunday in the Swedish capital Stockholm, ended the contest “Eurovision”. The first place it took the Ukrainian singer Jamala with a song called a song specifically for the qualifying round. In her confession, to create compositions inspired by her grandmother’s story. The song of Ukrainian singer performed in two languages — English and Crimean Tatar.

Earlier singer Jamal congratulated on winning the competition, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. “Incredible performance and victory! All of Ukraine would like to thank you, Jamal!”, — he wrote in his Twitter.

Russia on “Eurovision” was represented by Sergey Lazarev. According to the results of the audience vote, he won first place, but for the total score, which also included the results of voting of the professional jury of the countries participating in the contest, Lazarev became in the end the third.

Second place went to the representative of Australia Demi Them.

Crimea and Sevastopol became part of Russia in March 2014. The decision about joining of the Russian Federation of new subjects was made according to the results of the referendum in which the majority of inhabitants of the Peninsula voted to secede from Ukraine. The Russian leadership has also pointed out that in this way the Crimean people exercised their right to self-determination. Kiev considers an exit of the Crimea from the Ukraine annexation.
