Russian and Kazakhstani secret services prevented terrorist acts on the territory of Russia in the Paris scenario, said Thursday in Minsk, the Russian FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov, reports “RIA Novosti”.
According to him, the activities of a criminal group, whose members “were planning to commit terrorist acts in the Paris scenario in major cities of the Russian Federation, was foiled in February 2016 by the FSB of Russia and national security Committee of Kazakhstan.
After the attacks the perpetrators were planning to visit the Syrian Arab Republic and to join the ranks of the “Islamic state” (ISIS banned in Russia as a terrorist organization), Bortnikov added.
He added that in Belarus arrested internationally wanted terrorist from Russia, BelTA informs.
“As a result of the implementation of a set of joint operational activities of the Russian FSB and KGB of Belarus on the territory of the Republic arrested declared in the international wanted list for his involvement in the international terrorist organization the citizen of Russia”, — said Bortnikov, noting that the detainee participated in military action in Syria and had planned to hide in one of the European countries.
Bortnikov statements were made at a meeting of the Council of heads of security bodies and special services of the CIS in Minsk.
A series of terrorist attacks in Paris, the responsibility for which was assumed by “the Islamic state”, occurred on the night of November 14, 2015. Several explosions thundered at the Stade de France, which hosted the football match between France and Germany. In addition, several attacks were committed on the cafe, and three terrorists took hostages in a concert hall Bataclan. The victims were 130 people.
