The Minister of transport spoke about the development of Russian analogue of the Hyperloop

Russian scientists are working to develop projects for a superfast transport, said at a briefing in Sochi, the Minister of transport Maxim Sokolov.

“As for the Hyperloop project, similar work is being done for a long time and not only in America. Of course, the project Elon musk has gained some momentum lately. I hope we will soon see a significant test plot”, — he said.

“If we assume the steps [to such technologies]? In principle, Yes. In our transport strategy reflects the use of new means of transport, which can be attributed to this project”, — said the Minister. “We are not just looking for such projects, but we understand that they are the future,” said Sokolov.

According to the Minister, the Russian scientists are working to develop such projects. “In St.-Petersburg University of transport and communications I two years ago got acquainted with the prototype. We can say that the technological principle already implemented”, — said the Minister of transport.

On Thursday, the newspaper “Vedomosti” reported that Russian Railways (RZD) and the us company Hyperloop One that deals with the development of high-speed trains, the idea of billionaire Elon musk, has created a working group to discuss prospects of cooperation. According to his source, the initiative came from the Hyperloop, proposed Railways technology, and now monopoly have to Express their views on security, and then to the end of the year, Russian Railways will take a decision.

Hyperloop — a high-speed train project, which will move across the pipe from which air is pumped out before the so-called backing level, so theoretically it is possible to transport people and goods at the speed of sound and above.
