American Forbes on Wednesday published an annual ranking of the largest 2000 public companies world Forbes Global 2000. Of the 27 Russian companies, being on the roster in 2015, a new rating was not included four is Mail.Ru Group, Mechel, United aircraft Corporation and “Rostelecom”.
In the Forbes Global 2000 list were two companies who were not in last year’s ranking. That “Bashneft” and “FosAgro”. “Bashneft” took the 1113 th place in the global ranking (14th among Russian companies). “FosAgro” was in 1947-th line in the global list and on the 25th in the Russian part of the rating.
Just Forbes Global 2000 in 2016 were 25 Russian companies. As in 2015, the first and second places among the Russian companies occupied the “Gazprom” and “Rosneft”. In the global ranking of their position worsened: “Gazprom” has moved from 27th to 53rd place, “Rosneft” — from 59 th to 75.
Sberbank moved up from fourth to third place among Russian companies (102nd in the global ranking), displacing LUKOIL. The largest private oil company in Russia ended up fourth (122-I in the global list).
In first ten the largest Russian companies also became “Surgutneftegaz” (the 242nd place in the global list), “Transneft” (361-e a place), VTB (626-e a place), “Norilsk Nickel” (639), NOVATEK (690-e a place) and “the Magnet” (774-e a place).
The leader of the global rankings for the fourth year in a row was the Chinese Bank ICBC. Behind him in the top three are China Construction Bank and Agricultural Bank of China. The top ten largest public companies in the world also includes investment holding Berkshire Hathaway, JP Morgan Chase banks, Bank of China, Wells Fargo, the manufacturer of Apple gadgets, the oil company Exxon Mobil and carmaker Toyota Motor.
In compiling the list of the largest public companies Forbes takes into account four indicators — revenue, profit, assets and market capitalization. This year the list includes companies from 63 countries. In the aggregate revenue 2,000 companies from the list is $35 trillion (in 2015 — $39 trillion), profit — $2.4 trillion (in 2015 — $3 trillion), the market capitalization of $44 trillion (in 2015 — $48 trillion). They manage assets worth $162 trillion.
