Chaika suggested to improve the criminal code after “racing” Gelandewagen

The decision about cancellation of a criminal case on hooliganism against young people who participated in the “race” for Gelandewagen in Moscow had to intervene in the framework of the legislation, said the Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika at the “government hour” in the state Duma.

“The public Prosecutor proceeded on the letter of the law. He acted in the framework adopted by the state Duma of the law. He did the right thing, which overturned the decision. The Prosecutor’s office found the norm for criminal prosecution. This was done after my order about the learn videos and in the result, the case was brought by two trains,” he said (quoted by “Interfax”).

The attorney General noted that article 213 of the criminal code (hooliganism), you need to make adjustments. “I requested to make adjustments to this article, as in its current form it is difficult for us to apply it in practice”, — said Chaika.

The incident occurred on may 22. Then Gelandewagen, owned by the son of the Vice-President of LUKOIL Ruslan Shamsuarov, for a long time walked away from the police, violating traffic rules. The police officers managed to stop the car, but were in the driver and passengers were released after drawing up administrative protocols.

May 31, against the races opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 213 and article 319 of the criminal code (hooliganism, insulting the authorities). This was the third attempt to bring against participants of the “race” of a criminal case. On 2 June, however, the prosecution discontinued the case under article about hooliganism.

In the previous two cases, criminal proceedings were also reversed by the Prosecutor’s office. In both cases, the Supervisory authority pointed out that article 213 of the criminal code does not allow to evaluate the actions of participants “race” as a criminal offense.

4 Jun capital management TFR reported that against the defendants in these cases brought up another case. This time they were charged under part 1 of article 318 of the criminal code (violence against a representative of authorities).
