In Russia for the first time since August, 2015 fixed zero inflation

Weekly inflation in Russia for several months fluctuated at the level of 0.1-0.2%, for the first time since August of last year has slowed to zero, follows from the message of Rosstat.

For the week from 31 may to 6 June consumer prices for goods and services in Russia, according to official statistics, the average has not changed. The last time before the zero weekly inflation was recorded by the Rosstat data in the period from 11 to 17 August 2015.

Zero inflation helped the fall in prices of some food products, including eggs (fell 3%), pork, salt, flour, rice and millet (the decline in prices amounted to 0.2% to 0.5%). In addition the price of fruit and vegetables fell by an average 1%, with fresh cucumbers fell from 9.6% and cabbage — by 6.2%.

At the same time in the Russian stores continued to grow buckwheat (+1,5%), the price of which in may jumped by 8.6% and in April by 5.6%. Sugar for the week from 31 may to 6 June rose 0.5%, tea and pasta — by 0.3%, boiled sausage — by 0.2%.

Gasoline and diesel fuel at the Russian stations during the first week of June has risen on average by 0.1%.
