According to the report, published on the website of the Pentagon, the head of the Ministry of defense Ashton Carter will travel to Brussels for a meeting of the heads of the defense ministries of NATO countries, which will be held from 13 to 15 June.
In the message of the Pentagon notes that Carter will meet with sulime colleagues, “to discuss a wide range of issues”. In particular, will discuss “significant efforts” of the US “support allies” in the face of “Russian aggression”.
In addition, the Ministers will discuss NATO’s contribution to the fight against “Islamic state” (organization banned in Russia), efforts to stabilize the situation in Afghanistan, as well as “the General approach of the Alliance to a number of other common threats.”
Meeting of the heads of the Ministry of defense of the countries-participants of NATO will take place on the eve of the NATO summit. The summit starts in Warsaw on 8 July. Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in an interview to “Radio Poland” said that during the summit, key will be taken and final decisions on how to adapt to the new situation in the field of security, including “the aggressive policy of Russia”.
