Tusk was taken on a possible exit of Britain from the EU seven years

If the inhabitants of the United Kingdom in a referendum on 23 June will vote for the country’s withdrawal from the EU, the procedure will take at least seven years, said the head of the European Council, Donald Tusk, in an interview with German newspaper Bild.

According to Tusk must first be a process of negotiations between Britain and other countries in the EU, which will take about two years. During the negotiations, in particular, should be solved the issues on the border regime and tariffs on British goods in the countries of the European Union. However, even if these negotiations are to be completed in two years, ratification of the new status of the UK may take much more time.

“Each of the 27 member countries of the EU and the European Parliament will have to agree on a common solution. It will take at least five years, and I’m afraid there is no guarantee that this process will be successful,” — said Tusk (quote via The Guardian).

According to The Guardian informed British Prime Minister David Cameron has said that Britain faces a “decade of uncertainty” while a new relationship with the EU if the voters in a referendum decide to vote for the withdrawal of Britain from the European Union.
