“Gazprom” at the auction won the license to develop Manevitskogo and Laporscha oil and gas blocks in the Nenets Autonomous district (NAO) within 20 years, reported Wednesday RIA Novosti citing Minister of natural resources Sergey Donskoy. During the auction was done in 19 steps, in the end, the lump sum payment amounted to 23.3 billion rubles, Donskoi said. This is almost three times more than the starting cost of the asset, which amounted to 8,047 billion.
Earlier, a source in Gazprom said that the company is not going to “fight to the last” and overpay for the asset. At the same time the source noted that to give deposits of “Rosneft” without a fight monopoly are not ready.
According to Donskoy, the main struggle at the auction unfolded between “Gazprom” and “Rosneft”. In addition to “Gazprom” and “Rosneft” request for Ladojskoe and Vanaveski field was also filed by the company “LUKOIL-Komi”.
As mentioned earlier, Ladojskoe and Vanaveski deposits are located not far from the main resource base of the Pechora LNG project construction of the LNG plant, which is implemented by Rosneft and the company Alltech Dmitry Bosova. In may 2014 Rosneft signed with Alltech, a Memorandum of creation of joint venture, among which was the introduction by the Russian company licenses for these fields in the company. In the same year the oil company has applied for obtaining these fields without a tender, but the Ministry refused her request, as the interest in the asset has shown “Gazprom” and the company “Kazconsult”.
Ladojskoe and Vanaveski areas relate to the deposits of Federal significance. Deposits are opened in 1971 and 1974. The total area of fields is 761 km, the proven recoverable reserves of 14.2 million tonnes of crude oil, 223 billion cubic meters of gas, estimated at 2.1 million, 10.9 million tons of condensate.
