Moscow. June 15. The state Duma on Wednesday passed in the second and third reading a law according to which when buying or selling currency in the amount up to 40 thousand rubles identification of clients-individuals is not required.
Under current law, the identification of the client with completing the questionnaire is required if the transaction amount exceeds 15 thousand rubles.
In addition, the law establishes the threshold amount of transactions for the sale and purchase of foreign currency, which require the simplified identification of the citizen, – 100 thousand roubles.
According to deputies, the adopted rules will reduce the burden and cost on banks making transactions for currency exchange.
The law was adopted entitled “On amendments to articles 7 and 7.3 of the law “About counteraction to legalization (laundering) of incomes obtained in a criminal way and financing of terrorism”.
