Putin called threat to the nation “endless swimming in the heroism”

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin stated that no nation should live indefinitely heroic past, and we must go forward, building on the foundations laid by the previous generation. This statement of the Russian President sounded on Wednesday, June 22, at a meeting with representatives of the Russian historical collection.

“No country, no people should live in the past and bathe in his infinite heroism. It is harmful and dangerous for the future of the nation,” Putin said (quoted by “Interfax”). “But going forward, largely based on the Foundation of what made the previous generations,” — said the head of state.

He stressed that educating young people must be “based on all the best that has been done over the previous decades of the century.” Only in this way, according to the President, you can “feel confident in this fast changing world, to choose the right development guidelines”.

The meeting, which took place in Day of memory and mourning, celebrated annually on 22 June, was attended by the speaker of the state Duma Sergey Naryshkin, Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky, representatives of public organizations, the scientific community, the search movement, and also the daughter of the French pilot regiment “Normandie–Niemen” Anne-Marie, Guido, decided to pass on the rewards of his father in the Museum of the Russian military-historical society, the press service of the Kremlin.
