The pound, which, after polls showed a victory for the opponents of Brexit, reached the highest level since mid-December, went down sharply after it became clear that eurosceptics in the cities of the North of England – Newcastle and Sunderland – was more than the polls were showing. Within 3 minutes the rate fell from 1.49 to 1.43.
The decline was recorded in other markets. So, the Euro against the dollar fell to the level of 1.13, i.e. 0.61%.
Around 2:23 the market has continued, and the pound returned to the level of 1.45 to the dollar, however, the drop still amounted to more than 2.2%.
