Putin created the Council for strategic development


President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the strategic development Board and priority projects, the creation of which was announced in mid-June at the St. Petersburg international economic forum (SPIEF), according to the Kremlin website.

First meeting of the Council for strategic development and priority projects will be held in July, said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at a government meeting on Thursday. He noted that this meeting will identify projects on which to work, the government, the correspondent . According to the Prime Minister, presidency of the Council needs to understand how to link new projects with the formation of the budget.

As follows from the published documents of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin will chair the Board, Dmitry Medvedev will take the post of Chairman. In the new structure, in particular, also includes presidential aide Andrei Belousov, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Minister of economic development Alexei Ulyukayev, the first Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, Deputy Prime Ministers Arkady Dvorkovich, Dmitry Kozak, Olga Golodets, Sergey Prikhodko, Dmitry Rogozin and Alexander Khloponin, Deputy head of the Economic Council under the President Alexei Kudrin, state Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin and Federation Council speaker Valentina Matvienko.

Earlier Igor Shuvalov in interview to TV channel said that the Council for strategic plans and priority projects will work on the agenda of the next political cycle, 2018-2024 years. According to him, the Council will work with the project methods and focus on the most important indicators in ten areas, including education, health, housing, export promotion, small and medium business.

“This will be the primary responsibility of the government for a period of almost two years of its work. There is much to do,” stated Shuvalov.
