Lech Walesa advised the commander of U.S. destroyers to shoot down Russian planes

Former Polish President Lech Walesa told how he behaved in the place of captain of the American destroyer “Donald cook”, near which flew the Russian aircraft su-24.

“If I was the commander of this ship, and they [the Russians] were flying, and I would hit them. Would not kill. Would shoot at the wings,” said Walesa in an interview with radio “Freedom”. Answering a journalist, that such actions will lead to conflict, Walesa said: “there is No conflict. What is the conflict? Nobody wants it, and the Russians don’t want it”.
