The editor of “Echo of Moscow” told about the questioning on the case Navalny


Chief editor of radio station “Echo of Moscow” Vitaly Xena spoke about the details of additional interrogation to the police station, which he visited on Wednesday, July 6. Xena explained to RIA Novosti that, as at the previous interrogation, the investigators were interested in the technology publication on the website of the radio station texts and blogs, in particular, the mechanism for the publication of the texts of the head of the Fund of struggle against corruption Alexey Navalny.

“In fact, repeated questioning, just was a little advanced for your questions. They were interested in how to publish blogs on the website, how we agree with the authors that this whole scheme-procedure from the wording as is. And could Bulk to self-publish on our website and how there appeared texts which claim Karpov. They were interested in the procedure of appearance on the website, in particular, the Bulk of the blog,” told Xena.

He also explained that gave answers according to the technology publication. “What is with authors we have an agreement verbal, not formal, which, of course, Navalny himself any access to our website or not, but just the editorial staff shall reprint in full, without changing anything, the texts that go at it on the website. And around it all spun. In principle, the answers they’re satisfied, as I understand it”, — concluded the journalist.

In may against Navalny was initiated a criminal case under article “slander, coupled with the accusation of committing grave and especially grave crimes” (part 2 and part 5 of article 128.1 OF THE CRIMINAL CODE). The application for the policy was filed by a former investigator MIA Pavel Karpov, who considered it a violation of the law of distribution of Bulk and the website of the radio station videos from the Russian untouchables (“the untouchables Russians”). He said that earlier, the same equipment was returned to the Investigative Committee, seized during searches in the “case of Kirovec” and in the case of the picture.

A search of the apartment was after the interrogation, during which police have conducted a “personal search” and asked the politician to turn out his pockets. According to the lawyer of Navalny, investigators were looking for “equipment, supplies, documents and other means of committing a crime,” but found only a passport.

On the same day, interior Ministry officials have interrogated and chief editor of the website of radio station “Echo of Moscow” Vitaly Xena. Xena said then that officers asked, could the Bulk self-publish and edit posts on the website of “Echo”. These questions Xena replied in the negative.
