Ukraine has extended an embargo on Russian goods before the end of 2017

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has extended the trade embargo against Russia until the end of 2017. The decision was taken at a meeting of the government, transfers “112 Ukraine”.

As the newspaper notes, the decision was a mirror response to Moscow’s actions. On 29 June the President of Russia Vladimir Putin extended the food embargo until 31 December 2017. The Ministry of economic development of Ukraine then asked to take similar measures.

“This draft resolution has been prepared to ensure the national security of Ukraine in response to Russia’s introduction of the appropriate trade prohibitions and restrictions in respect of Ukraine”, – said the Minister of economic development and trade, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv (quoted by UNN)
