“Naftogaz of Ukraine” has named the conditions for the resumption of purchases of Russian gas

The resumption of purchases of Russian gas is possible only under certain conditions, told reporters the representative of the company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Yuriy Vitrenko. “There are a number of issues which need to be addressed. In particular, the principle of “take or pay”, the delivery to the points that we need. So we said, “Well, you ordered the gas we supply to non-government-controlled areas of Donbass, where we didn’t order,” — said Vitrenko (quoted by TASS).

The representative of “Naftogaz” also said that the issue of prepaid purchased from “Gazprom” fuel (Ukrainian company is ready to prepay only the desired volume of gas) and guarantees unapplied prepayments made on account of repayment of the contested Ukrainian side’s debt to “Gazprom”. “We have such a bad contract that we must prepay the entire amount for the quarter, which is calculated as certain volumes of the annual amount,” — said Vitrenko.

“In order to resolve all these issues, we insist on some formal documents. Is a variant of the additional agreement, there are other options. This is discussed, everything is already in the regime of Stockholm is, therefore, the word of a lawyer with that from our side is more important than the word of some sales people,” — said Vitrenko, noting that negotiations “Gazprom” and “Naftogaz” about a possible transaction terms are ongoing.

Earlier today the head of “Naftogaz” Andrey Kobelev on a press-conferences in Kiev has recognized that the third quarter of 2016, “Gazprom” has offered lower compared with European suppliers, the price of gas, but has not yet signed the additional agreement to the contract of 2009. KOBOLEV said that if “Gazprom” will not be offered favorable terms, Naftogaz will not buy Russian gas holding.

At the end of June the head of “Gazprom” Alexei Miller said that the holding company is offering gas to Ukraine at $167,57 per 1 thousand cubic meters. “The price is lower than in the gas trading platforms in Europe buying Russian gas for Ukraine profitable,” emphasized Miller.
